MTG Tournament Software

MTG Tournament Software Built for Magic - Not Bolted On

Generic bracket tools don't understand Commander pods, sealed pools, or cEDH scoring. MTGSL does. Run Swiss rounds, manage brackets, track results, and hand out trophies - all from one platform built exclusively for Magic: The Gathering.

Commander · Sealed · Draft · Modern · cEDH · No credit card required.

Automated Swiss Pairings for Every Round

The Swiss system is the gold standard for fair tournament play. MTGSL generates correct Swiss pairings instantly after each round - no manual math, no spreadsheet lookups.

Pairings avoid rematches, match players with similar records, and handle odd numbers by giving appropriate byes. For Commander and cEDH, the pairing engine balances 3–5 player pods and accounts for late arrivals and dropouts without disrupting the bracket.

  • Instant pairings after every round
  • Avoids repeat matchups across all rounds
  • Automatic byes for odd player counts
  • 3–5 player pod balancing for Commander formats
  • Handles dropouts and late registrations mid-event

Tournament Structures MTGSL Supports

Swiss Rounds

The standard format for regular-season play. Players accumulate match points over multiple rounds, with pairings tightening as the standings develop. MTGSL runs as many rounds as you need and auto-generates standings after each one.

Swiss Into Top Cut

The most common competitive structure. Run your Swiss rounds, then cut to Top 4 or Top 8 for single elimination. MTGSL handles the seed seeding and bracket automatically based on your Swiss standings.

Single Elimination

One loss and you're out. MTGSL generates clean single-elimination brackets for any number of players, with proper byes for uneven fields. Perfect for championships and invitationals.

Double Elimination

Two losses to be eliminated, with a winners bracket and losers bracket running in parallel. MTGSL manages the bracket flow automatically - no manual tracking of which bracket a player is in.

Every MTG Format Supported

MTGSL understands the formats - not just the pairing math.

More Than a One-Off Bracket

Most tournament tools stop when the bracket ends. MTGSL builds on every tournament. ELO ratings accumulate across events. Series standings track players across your whole season. Playoffs qualify from your regular season automatically.

Your tournament isn't a one-night event - it's part of something bigger. MTGSL treats it that way.

MTG Tournament Software - FAQ

A common rule of thumb is log₂(players) rounded up. 8 players = 3 rounds, 16 players = 4 rounds, 32 players = 5 rounds. MTGSL doesn't enforce a limit - you decide when to cut to top.

Yes. Organizers can drop players at any point, and MTGSL will adjust future pairings accordingly. Dropped players retain their standing at the time of drop, which is relevant for prizes and seeding.

Yes. Draws can be reported by either player and are counted correctly in standings and tiebreaker calculations. Organizers can also set rules around intentional draws in their event settings.

Absolutely. MTGSL works for single-day events with Swiss rounds and/or brackets. You don't need to run a multi-week season - a one-day tournament is a fully supported use case.

Your next MTG tournament deserves better than a bracket spreadsheet.
